Brufenon is a combination of 200 mg of ibuprofen and 500 mg of paracetamol. Brufenon is formulated using a technology that releases ibuprofen and paracetamol simultaneously, so that the substances provide a combined effect. This combined effect provides better performance than either substance alone, without compromising safety.
- Rapid onset of action (about 15 minutes);
- Prolonged effect (between 8 and 9 hours);
- Greater effectiveness than the substances separately, without increasing side effects.
How to Use
Adults: The recommended dose is 1 tablet with water and food, up to three times a day. There should be a minimum interval of 6 hours between doses. If 1 tablet does not control symptoms, a maximum of 2 tablets can be taken up to three times a day.
Do not take more than 6 tablets in a 24 hour period (equivalent to
1200 mg of ibuprofen and 3000 mg of paracetamol per day). Not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Brufenon should not be taken for more than 3 days.
Brufenon, 200 mg + 500 mg, film-coated tablets contain 200 mg ibuprofen and 500 mg paracetamol. It is a non-prescription medicine dispensed exclusively in pharmacies, indicated for adults for the temporary relief of mild to moderate pain, cold and flu symptoms, and fever. It is especially suitable for pain that requires stronger analgesia than ibuprofen or paracetamol alone. If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 3 days, you must consult a doctor. Do not take Brufenon if you are taking any other medicine containing paracetamol, if you are taking any other pain-relieving medicines including ibuprofen, high-dose aspirin (above 75 mg/day) or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs including cyclooxygenase-2 specific inhibitors, if you are allergic to ibuprofen, paracetamol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine, if you are allergic to aspirin or other NSAID painkillers, if you have or have ever had an ulcer or bleeding in the stomach or duodenum (small intestine), if you have a blood clotting disorder, if you have heart, liver or kidney failure, if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy. Immediate medical attention should be sought in the event of an overdose, even if the patient feels well, because of the risk of delayed serious liver damage. Undesirable effects may be minimised by using the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary to control symptoms and by patients taking the dose with food. Read the information on the label and in the package leaflet carefully and if you have any questions or symptoms persist, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
