How to Use
Adults and adolescents over 12 years old (over 40 kg):
- The recommended dose is 1 or 2 sachets up to 3 to 4 times a day (depending on the single dose) as needed. There should be an interval of at least 4 to 6 hours between doses. Do not take more than 6 sachets in 24 hours.
- Taking more than 2 sachets in a single dose does not give you better pain relief effect and should be avoided.
Children over 6 years old (over 20 kg):
- The maximum daily dose is 30 mg per kg of body weight, divided into single doses depending on body weight. There should be an interval of at least 6 to 8 hours between doses.
Children aged 6 to 7 years (20 - 30 kg):
- 1 sachet up to 3 times a day as needed. There should be an interval of at least 6 to 8 hours between doses. Do not take more than 3 sachets in 24 hours.
Method of administration: Oral use. The sachet should be mixed before taking by pressing the top and bottom of the sachet several times with your fingers. You can take the medicine directly from the sachet. The contents of the sachet cannot be divided between doses and must be taken as a whole. For a faster onset of action, Brufen Liq can be taken on an empty stomach. If you have a sensitive stomach, take Brufen Liq with food.
Brufen 200 mg film-coated tablets and effervescent granules; Brufen Sugar Free 20 mg/ml oral suspension; Brufenact 200 mg film-coated tablets, Brufen Liq 200 mg oral suspension in sachet and Brufen 400 mg film-coated tablets are non-prescription medicines. Brufen 400 mg Effervescent Granules; Brufenact 400 mg film-coated tablets and Brufen Liq 400 mg oral suspension in sachet are non-prescription medicines dispensed exclusively in pharmacies. These medicines contain ibuprofen as the active substance and are indicated for mild to moderate pain and fever (less than 3 days). Brufen 400 mg is indicated for adults for the symptomatic relief of occasional pain of mild to moderate intensity, as well as in febrile states. Brufen 400 mg Granules; Brufen 200 mg; Brufenact 400 mg Brufen Liq 400 mg are indicated for children aged 12 and over; Brufen Sugar Free for children weighing 5 kg and over (over 3 months), adolescents and adults; Brufenact 200 mg and Brufen Liq 200 mg can be taken by adults, adolescents and children aged 6 and over and weighing more than 20 kg. Do not take if you are allergic to ibuprofen or any of the other ingredients of these medicines, if you have ever had an allergic reaction to ibuprofen, aspirin or other NSAIDs, if you have a gastric/duodenal ulcer or bleeding, if you have ever suffered bleeding or perforation in your stomach or intestine when taking NSAIDs, if you have severe liver or kidney problems, if you have severe heart failure or coronary heart disease, if you have bleeding in the brain or other active bleeding, if you have a condition that makes you more susceptible to bleeding, if you are significantly dehydrated, if you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy; if you have systemic lupus erythematosus. Brufen 200 mg and 400 mg tablets contain lactose monohydrate. Brufen 200 mg Effervescent granules contain sucrose and sodium. Brufen 400 mg Effervescent granules contain 2222 mg of sucrose and 131 mg of sodium in each sachet. The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration necessary to relieve symptoms. Brufen Sugar Free contains sorbitol. Do not take in the last trimester of pregnancy. Brufen Liq 200 mg contains: maltitol (E965). If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine. 20 mg benzoate salt (E211) in each sachet, which is equivalent to 2 mg/ml. Orange flavouring contains 14 mg alcohol (ethanol) in each sachet. The amount in each sachet of this medicine is equivalent to less than 1 ml of beer or 1 ml of wine. The small amount of alcohol in this medicine will not have any noticeable effects. 48 mg propylene glycol in each sachet, which is equivalent to 4.8 mg/ml. 17 mg sodium (main component of table salt) in each 10 ml sachet. This is equivalent to 1% of the WHO maximum recommended daily dietary intake of sodium for an adult. Brufen Liq 400 mg contains: maltitol (E965). If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine. 10 mg benzoate salt (E211) in each sachet, which is equivalent to 1 mg/ml. 0.0017 mg benzyl alcohol in each 10 ml sachet. Benzyl alcohol may cause allergic reactions. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, or if you have liver or kidney disease, consult your doctor. Because large amounts of benzyl alcohol can build up in your body and this can cause undesirable effects (called "metabolic acidosis"). 58 mg sodium (main component of table salt) in each sachet. This is equivalent to 3% of the maximum recommended daily dietary intake of sodium for an adult.
