Aero-OM ® antidiarrheal effectively relieves acute (occasional) diarrhea. Its active ingredient is loperamide hydrochloride , a synthetic antidiarrheal that reduces intestinal transit, stimulates anal sphincter pressure and reduces fecal incontinence. Aero-OM ® antidiarrheal is a non-prescription medicine, indicated for the treatment of symptoms of sudden (acute) diarrhea in adults and children aged 12 and over.
How to Use
Adults and children over 12 years: The usual dose is 2 tablets as an initial dose, followed by 1 tablet after each diarrheal bowel movement, up to a maximum of 4 tablets in 24 hours. The tablets should be swallowed with plenty of liquid. Treatment should be stopped as soon as the stools return to normal.
Treatment should be done for a short period (no more than 2 days).
Aero-OM antidiarrheal , a non-prescription medicine, contains 2 mg of loperamide. It is indicated for the treatment of the symptoms of sudden (acute) diarrhoea. It is only indicated for short-term treatment (no more than 2 days). Adults and children over 12 years of age: take 2 tablets as an initial dose and then 1 tablet after each diarrhoeal bowel movement, up to a maximum of 4 tablets in 24 hours. The tablets should be swallowed with plenty of water. Treatment should be stopped as soon as the stools return to normal. Do not take this medicine for prolonged periods (more than 2 days) or exceed the recommended doses. Contraindications: Do not use this medicine if you are allergic to loperamide or any of the other ingredients of the medicine, if your diarrhoea is accompanied by bloody stools or high fever, if you suffer from pseudomembranous colitis associated with antibiotic treatment, if you suffer from acute ulcerative colitis, if you suffer from severe liver failure, if you suffer from intestinal disorders such as constipation, acute or chronic intestinal obstruction and flatulence (wind). Do not take this medicine for any purpose other than its intended purpose and never take more than the recommended dose. Serious heart problems (symptoms of which include a fast or irregular heartbeat) have been reported in patients who have taken too much loperamide, the active substance in Aero-OM antidiarrhoeal.
