Proton® 20 mg is a non-prescription medicine that contains 20 mg of omeprazole as an active substance. PROTON 20 mg is a medicine belonging to the class of proton pump inhibitors that reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach, thus preventing excess acid from causing symptoms associated with gastric hyperacidity.
How to Use
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The usual dose is one 20 mg capsule or two 10 mg capsules once a day for 14 days. Contact your doctor if you are not free of symptoms after this period. You may need to take the capsules for 2-3 consecutive days to see improvement in symptoms.
Taking this medicine:
- It is recommended to take the capsules in the morning.
- You can take the capsules with food or on an empty stomach.
Non-prescription medicine. Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to omeprazole or any of the other ingredients of the medicine, if you are allergic to medicines containing other proton pump inhibitors, if you are taking a medicine containing nelfinavir.
