How to Use

Oral route.

Adults and Elderly : Up to 4 sprays per hour may be used. No more than 2 sprays per dose and no more than 64 sprays (4 sprays per hour for 16 hours) should be exceeded in any 24-hour period.

Pediatric population : should not be used in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

Stage I : 1 to 6 Weeks

One to two sprays should be applied at times when you would normally smoke a cigarette or when you feel the urge to smoke. If after one spray the urge to smoke persists for a few minutes, a second spray should be applied. If two sprays were necessary, then in future two consecutive sprays should be applied.

Most smokers will need 1 to 2 sprays every 30 minutes to 1 hour.

Stage II : 7 to 9 weeks

Begin to reduce the number of sprays per day. By the end of the 9th week, patients should be using HALF the number of sprays per day that were used in Stage I.

Stage III : 10 to 12 weeks

Continue to reduce the number of sprays per day so that by week 12, patients are not exceeding 4 sprays per day. When patients reduce to 2 to 4 sprays per day, the oral spray should be discontinued.

One cigarette is replaced by one dose (1-2 puffs) and an attempt to quit should be made as soon as the smoker is ready and no later than 12 weeks after starting treatment. Regular use is not recommended beyond 6 months.

Method of administration : After preparation, bring the mouth spray as close as possible to the open mouth. Press the top of the spray firmly and release a spray into the mouth, avoiding contact with the lips. Patients should not inhale during spraying to avoid passage into the respiratory tract. For best results, do not swallow for a few seconds after spraying. Patients should not eat or drink while administering the mouth spray.
