How to Use

Tips for measuring

• If you want to measure your blood pressure correctly, wait at least 1 hour after a meal, even if you have only had coffee or tea. To avoid false readings, also avoid physical exertion or smoking shortly before taking the measurement.
• Are you ready to have your blood pressure measured and feel like you need to pee? Stop everything. If you feel the urge, go to the bathroom first. Your blood pressure measurement can be done immediately afterwards.
• Before taking your blood pressure, relax! Try to sit for 5 minutes in a quiet room and, if possible, at a comfortable room temperature.
• If you decide to measure your blood pressure, make sure that you do not wear tight clothing around the arm where you are taking the measurement. This will prevent the tourniquet effect and will not confuse your sphygmomanometer.
• Are you ready to take your blood pressure? Remember to sit with your arm resting on a horizontal plane at the level of your heart. Rest your back against the chair, do not cross your legs, remain still and do not talk. Remember not to tighten the cuff too much: it should not constrict your arm.
• If you take more than one measurement, we recommend that you always choose the same time, when you wake up and in the late afternoon, and even the same arm, as your doctor will advise you: sometimes there are really significant differences in the values ​​measured in the two arms. And it is precisely in this case that the arm with the higher blood pressure value is always used.
• If you want to repeat the measurement, wait at least 1 or 2 minutes after the last test and record the values ​​of both measurements in your diary. Remember that you should consider the average of the measurements obtained and not the individual values ​​recorded.
