How to Use
Adults and children over 12 years of age: The usual dose is 3 to 6 mg, which corresponds to 20 - 40 drops of Fenistil Oral Drops, 3 times a day. In patients with a tendency to drowsiness, 40 drops of Fenistil should be prescribed at bedtime and 20 drops at breakfast.
Children: The usual daily dose is approximately 0.1 mg/kg of weight. Therefore, the usual dosage is as follows:
- Children from 1 month to one year of age (only after medical advice): 3 to 10 drops, three times a day;
- Children 1 to 3 years of age: 10 to 15 drops, three times a day;
- Children 3 to 12 years of age: 15 to 20 drops, three times a day;
* 20 drops of Fenistil Oral Drops correspond to 1 ml, i.e. 1 mg of dimethindene maleate.
Note: Fenistil Oral Drops should not be exposed to high temperatures; the drops should only be added to the bottle immediately before giving it to the child, i.e. when it is already lukewarm. If the child is spoon-fed, give the drops in a teaspoon undiluted. The taste of Fenistil Oral Drops is pleasant.
Non-prescription medicine. If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is less than 2 hours until your next dose. In this case, just take the next dose as planned.
