Zovirax Duo is used to treat the early signs and symptoms of cold sores (e.g. tingling, itching or redness) on the lips and face, to reduce the chance of the cold sore progressing to a blister (vesicle).
Even if your cold sore has developed into a blister, Zovirax Duo will shorten the healing process compared to a cream without the active substances (hydrocortisone and acyclovir).
How to Use
Adults and children aged 12 years and over: Apply Zovirax Duo 5 times a day for 5 days. Do not use for more than 5 days. If symptoms persist for more than 5 days after finishing treatment, you should consult your doctor.

Treatment of the initial signs and symptoms of recurrent cold sores to reduce the progression of cold sore episodes to ulcerative lesions. Special precautions for use: only for cutaneous use in cold sores on the lips and skin next to the lips. Do not apply to mucous membranes (eyes, inside of the mouth, nose or genitals); do not use with occlusive dressings such as plasters or specific cold sore dressings/plasters; avoid continuous use >5 days; contains cetostearyl alcohol, propylene glycol and sodium lauryl sulfate (may cause skin irritation and local skin reactions).
