Gino-Canesten® vaginal cream is an antifungal medication indicated for the treatment of vaginal candidiasis and is effective in relieving its 6 main symptoms: itching, redness, inflammation, pain, burning and abnormal vaginal discharge - white and lumpy, similar to cottage cheese (without bad smell). Consult a doctor if the infection reappears within two months after finishing treatment.

How to Use

Each pack of Gino-Canesten® vaginal cream contains 50 g of vaginal cream and 6 applicators. The medicine is presented in the form of a vaginal cream for application to the vagina and vulva. It can also be applied to the glans and foreskin to treat balanitis.

Recommended dose of Gino-Canesten ® vaginal cream:
Adults and children over 12 years of age : Gino-Canesten vaginal cream should be applied for 6 consecutive days in the case of vaginal candidiasis.

For the treatment of infections of the female genital lips (vulva) or inflammation of the glans and foreskin of the sexual partner's penis, the treatment period is 1-2 weeks.

  • If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
  • Before applying Gino-Canesten 6 vaginal tablets, wash your hands thoroughly.
  • Insert 1 applicator full of vaginal cream as deep as possible into the vagina at night, before going to bed, once a day, for 6 consecutive days.
  • It is recommended that the application be done while lying on your back and with your legs slightly bent.
  • Some of the contents may come out, so we recommend using a daily or sanitary pad to prevent it from soiling your favorite underwear.

To treat infections of the labia (vulva) in women or inflammation of the glans and foreskin of the penis of a sexual partner (balanal candidiasis), apply the cream 2-3 times a day, in a thin layer, to the affected areas (in women: external genitalia up to the anus; in men: glans and foreskin of the penis), rubbing in lightly afterwards. In these cases, the normal treatment period is 1-2 weeks.

Treatment should not be taken during your period. The full course of treatment should be completed before your period starts. You should not use tampons, douches, spermicides or other vaginal products while using this medicine. You can repeat the treatment if necessary, however, recurrent infections may indicate an underlying medical cause. You should seek medical advice if symptoms return within 2 months.

It can be used by adults and children aged 12 and over.
